The Social Compact is a statement of understanding about the relationship between the ACT Government and the community sector. It provides a framework for relations between the community sector and the ACT Government by articulating the principles of good communication and partnership. It aims to continue to improve the working relationship for the benefit of people and communities in the ACT.
The Joint Community Government Reference Group promotes The Social Compact and reviews it periodically. The Social Compact does not stand alone and is informed by The Canberra Plan and The Canberra Social Plan.
