The ACT Government is preparing a master plan for Oaks Estate. The master plan will define what is important about the area, how its character and quality can be conserved and enhanced and how Oaks Estate could develop into the future.

The master plan process will investigate ways to update and reinvigorate the area within the community vision. It will explore:

• how we can maintain and strengthen the estate’s role as a unique, pleasant and safe rural village
• how local services can remain viable and how we need to manage future growth and infrastructure needs
• how we can improve the public realm and provide well-designed public spaces to increase the centre’s safety and amenity.

Consultation is an important part of the master plan process and we welcome your thoughts on these initial ideas that have been developed following a vision workshop and a design workshop with the community.
